VisitMaine.com is the State of Maine’s Official Tourism website. Drawing millions of visitors each year, VisitMaine.com helps visitors as they plan their trips to Maine and tempts them to make plans for the future. The website features articles about featured places and experiences around the state and hosts thousands of free listings, calendar events and deals posted by Maine-based businesses and organizations. VisitMaine.com is created and overseen by Miles Partnership and MOT

Office of Outdoor Recreation

Maine’s Office of Outdoor Recreation (MOOR) was permanently established July 1, 2019, within the Department of Economic & Community Development to leverage Maine’s assets and outdoor recreation heritage to grow the outdoor recreation economy and build Maine’s outdoor recreation brand as part of a coordinated effort with partners from the public and private sectors.

Maine Film Office

Help productions find you on filminmaine.com, the Maine Film Office website,  by creating free listings in two databases:

  • Create a listing in the MFO online Locations Library so productions can find your property.
  • List yourself or your business in the MFO online Production Directory to promote the goods and services you offer – productions hire a lot of people and purchase or rent a variety of products.

Try turning on your TV and turning off the volume to see the wide variety of locations, goods and services that productions need (they want to hire and source locally) and help productions find you.


Maine’s Tourism Regions

Maine is divided into eight tourism regions, each represented by a non-profit Regional Destination Marketing Organization (RDMO). These organizations work with MOT to help market the state and their individual regions through diverse campaigns including websites, on-line and print advertising, attendance at travel shows, etc.
